Conventional gas burners provide immediate
on/off control and a wide range of temperatures. Sealed gas
burners are more stylish, easier to clean, and maintain low
settings well.
This stove includes a grill with room for
adding additional burners or cooking accessories.
This is a matter of personal taste and
budget. Self cleaning stoves are usually better insulated
and offer the convenience of "one-touch" cleaning.
They are however, more expensive. As a rule of thumb: every
additional feature you add to a basic easy clean stove will
add approximately $200.00 to its price.
After use , wipe up any spills from the
exterior surfaces with a slightly damp, soapy sponge. Wash
control knobs with a sponge (removable knobs can be washed
in the sink, dried and replaced). Burner grates, caps, trim
rings and reflector bowls may be washed in the dishwasher,
or in the sink with warm soapy water (for hard to clean spots,
use a non-abrasive scrubbing pad). Dry with a soft cloth.
Tempered or ceramic glass cooktops should be carefully scraped
of food remains with a plastic spatula, then washed with a
damp soapy sponge. Oven racks grids and the broiler pan should
be washed in the sink with hot, soapy water and a non-abrasive
plastic scrubbing pad. Use a non-abrasive plastic scrubbing-pad
to clean the inside of the oven window. Rinse and dry with
a paper towel. The oven interior should be cleaned according
to the instruction manual that comes with every new appliance.
For safety's sake: always turn pot
handles in, away from other hot elements to reduce the chance
of accidents. It's smart to keep some form of fire extinguisher
nearby when cooking. NEVER use water on a grease fire;
immediately turn off the heat; Baking soda can be used to
control the flames or a dry chemical or foam-type fire extinguisher
can be sprayed on the flames. Thick, dry, flame-resistant
potholders help avoid burning your hands. Tilt the lid away
from you when checking on your cooking to protect your face
and hands from burning steam. Racks should be positioned before
heating the oven. Burner spills should be cleaned quickly
to avoid potential fire. Never reach across or touch a hot
element. Do not wear loose, baggy clothing when cooking (could
catch fire on a hot element). Keep children away from a
hot oven (never allow them to stand or sit on the oven door).
Lining reflector bowls with foil can result in shocks or fires.
